Agile and transformation are two most popularly used words in the last two decades ever since the introduction of the Agile manifesto way back in 2001. So where do we start…

It reminds me of a book written by Bill Hogan

How to eat an elephant?

So, Let’s break this down into smaller units ..

What does Agile mean ?

Agile Manifesto talks about 4 values and 12 principles. Summarizing it

Getting your customer involved early and at a constant interval

Cross functional team collaboration

Continuously delivering business value in alignment with Organizational goals

Embracing and responding to change -Adaptability

Short incremental & iterative delivery cadence with customer feedback

Mutual respect towards colleagues — showing EMPATHY

Transparency among colleagues and that of progress to various stakeholders

Measure ,Reflect and Improve often

Imagine Leonardo Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa the Agile way …

What does Transformation mean ?

We humans have continuously evolved over centuries . Have we ever wondered why ? SURVIVAL !! This will not stop here , we will continue to evolve. Same applies to organizations. They are in a constant state of CHANGE. The moment they stop, they will be set aside by a competitor .

Agile transformation is about using Agile principles & values to guide your transformational needs. Transformation happens at various levels but would see a higher level of success if its a TOP -DOWN approach.

Promote awareness on Agility and its benefits

Mentoring / training about Culture & Mindset shift

Transparency and clear communication on the organization Mission & Vision

Strategy , Road map and tactics to transform

Value streams in alignment to business goals and allow projects/portfolios to achieve those

Customer focused deliverable

Organization structures, policies, roles and responsibilities, Metrics, Measure and improve

Delivery processes to adopt frameworks coming under the agile umbrella.
